Anika Noi Rose is an American actress and performer, is known for her character as Tiana in the movie The Princess and The Frog. Her most well-known role is her role as Tiana the first Disney African-American princess as Tiana Disney's first African-American princess in The Princess and the Frog. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Rose starred as Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar-winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born September 6 1972) is an American artist and actress. Her most well-known role is playing Tiana Disney's first princess of African descent as she appeared in The Princess and the Frog (2009). She was named an official Disney Legend in 2011. Her most well-known role is the role of Lorrell Robinson in the film that won an Academy Award Dreamgirls (2005) and for her performance as LaVerne Jinglebox Ganner in Starz show Power. Her name has been praised for her theatre performances, including her leading role in Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway where her Tony Award was won for Best actress in a Musical.
